Following is a poem from local resident Bill Zartman.

The Visit

The highway stretches on ahead;

There seems to be no end —

Another hill, another plain,

Around another bend.

When I arrive, I feel it still:

The looming, wide hiatus —

Tell me, please, how can I cross

The miles that separate us?

Bill Zartman is retired from a local manufacturing company.

He enjoys his family, music, bicycling, the north woods and writing poetry.
