‘Memorable Stories from World War II’ on exhibit at Ethnic Heritage Museum

The Italian, Irish and Polish galleries of Rockford’s Ethnic Heritage Museum, 1129 S. Main St., have stories to tell about Rockford U.S. servicemen and women. Visitors can see how Rockford College students helped with the war effort through their volunteer service hours. Visitors can see Army field boots that walked through France with bombs exploding overhead. Navy dress uniforms — Blues and Whites are on display.

The Polish Gallery exhibits World War II items from the Polish Armed Forces of World War II. These items are on display through a partnership with The Polish Gallery of Chicago, along with St. Stanislaus Church in Rockford.

This World War II “Memorable Stories” exhibit will be on display through Nov. 10 at Ethnic Heritage Museum, open every Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Call (815) 962-7402.
