Veteran Stanley Naruz, of Rockford, recently participated in Snap-on Incorporated’s second “solo” Honor Flight for the company’s associates and franchisees who served in World War II, Korean and Vietnam wars. Snap-on is the first company to partner with Honor Flight Network to send its own military veterans to visit the Washington, D.C., memorials erected in their honor.
Snap-on announced its sponsorship of the “Honor Flight Network” with a $50,000 donation to the organization earlier this year. As a result of that donation, more than 50 associates and franchisees will participate in Honor Flights to view their memorials. On this flight, 26 veterans, traveling from 13 different states, visited the nation’s capital as a part of the second solo flight.
Because of the overwhelming number of veterans who applied to be a part of the two solo Honor Flights when they were announced in the spring, Snap-on will make a second $50,000 donation to fund two additional flights scheduled for spring 2014.
