ROSCOE, Ill. — Athletes from Roscoe’s Kids Spot Cheer traveled to Mundelein High School Sunday, Oct. 27, to mark the opening of their All-Star Cheer Season at the Chi Town Challenge.
Nerves and excitement both ran high as members of the seven teams performed brand-new routines in front of the judges for the first time.
“As coaches, we are always excited for the start of the season, but our athletes are the ones who have to go out there and perform,” said program director Michael Stewart. “The competition was fierce, but we put up great routines.”
At the end of the day, all of Kids Spot Cheer’s competitive teams placed in the top seven, with Platinum Ice receiving not only first place, but Grand Champion for all level 4 and 5 teams. This earns the Senior Level 4 squad a paid entry to the Tournament of Champions.
In addition, Platinum Ice earned championship awards for Jumps, Stunts and Tumbling.
Coach Ashley McMullin said: “We are so proud of all of our athletes and couldn’t be more excited about the direction they are all heading in. We are looking forward to another fantastic season.”
