Janet Heuer, a 13-year volunteer at Rockford’s Anderson Japanese Gardens, will share her experiences visiting many of Japan’s most well-known gardens during a lecture beginning at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 14, at Anderson Gardens.
Guests will be taken on a pictorial tour from a historical perspective. Heuer will provide background on the gardens and how they have evolved into the modern gardens we know today. She will compare and contrast themes found throughout Anderson Japanese Gardens and how they exhibit many of the traditional elements found in the great gardens of Japan.
The lecture is free for members of Anderson Japanese Gardens and $5 for non-members. Reservations are requested and can be made by contacting Sara Johnson at (815) 316-3307 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
