1800s Holiday Walk in Belvidere Dec. 7

BELVIDERE, Ill. — Boone County Conservation District will host an 1800s Holiday Walk from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, at Roger D. Gustafson Nature Center, 603 N. Appleton Road, Belvidere, Ill. Admission is free. Visitors will stroll along luminary-lit paths, listen to carolers from North Boone High School, and stop at two historic log cabins to learn about Christmas past.

Children of all ages will meet a Civil War Santa in his field tent and enjoy holiday treats and music by Bear Creek at the one-room schoolhouse. Visitors can learn about winter on the prairie in a Native American traveling lodge. Call (815) 547-7935 or visit www.bccdil.org.
