SOUTH BELOIT, Ill. — Everett’s Wine, Spirits and Beer, 426 Gardner St., South Beloit, Ill., will host its Holiday Beer Festival from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14.
The festival will be in Everett’s beer warehouse. Admission is free, although a donation will be accepted at the door to help Wimpy’s Fund.
Wimpy’s Fund was established by Everett Vaughn of Rockton, Ill., to help feed and clothe the families of Rockton. Vaughn started the fund more than two decades ago and, upon his death, the Rockton Lions continued his legacy.
Everett’s will have more than 10 brewery representatives on hand, including Schafly, Tallgrass, Samuel Adams, Lagunitas, Bells, Pecatonica, Capital Brewery, St. Killians Imports, Goose Island, Central Waters and Deschutes Brewery.
Along with the breweries, there will be many other craft and import beers represented. Look for more than 100 beers to taste, and explore the different styles the world offers to all who love beer.
In addition to the many beers to try, Everett’s will hold “blind lottery draws” on several hard-to-find beers. Utopias from Samuel Adams, Goose Island Barleywine, Rye and Coffee will all be drawn for purchase.
To heighten the money raised for Wimpy’s Fund, Everett’s will also hold multiple silent auctions on limited beer releases from this year and past years. All items will start with the regular retail price, and anything paid over the original retail will be donated to Wimpy’s Fund.
Snacks and special pricing will be available on certain products as well during the event.
