Local IHOP offers all-you-can-eat pancakes through Feb. 9, hosts Pancake Bowl Feb. 1
Online Staff Report
The local International House of Pancakes (IHOP), at 6960 Argus Drive off North Perryville in Rockford near Best Buy, is offering all-you-can-eat pancakes through Feb. 9 and will host its inaugural “Pancake Bowl” Feb. 1.
One of IHOP’s most popular promotions, the “keep them coming ’til you say when” stack of buttermilk pancakes is available as a main dish or alongside one of the restaurant’s combo orders.
Through Feb. 9, guests can order one of IHOP’s combos featuring eggs any style, crispy hash browns, and a choice of pork sausage links, crisp bacon or ham — all with a plate of two buttermilk pancakes. Or, guests can order a stack of five buttermilk pancakes as a main course. Either way, when those pancakes are gone, guests can get an additional serving of two pancakes. And when those are gone … they’ll keep on coming as long as the guest can keep eating them.
Also, continuing through Jan. 26, the Rockford IHOP is challenging guests to get off the sidelines and get in the game with a chance to participate in a bowl of their own: The Pancake Bowl.
With the return of all-you-can-eat pancakes, the Rockford IHOP is inviting pancake lovers to join in a good, old-fashioned pancake-eating contest, and is giving them a chance to win a spot in their inaugural Pancake Bowl Feb. 1.
Guests can enter the competition at the Rockford IHOP by ordering all-you-can-eat pancakes and enjoying as many buttermilk pancakes as they can to earn a spot on the leader board. The leader board will be updated daily, and at the end of the competition, the top-scoring pancake eater at each restaurant will receive bragging rights — and free pancakes for one year (defined as one free full stack (four) of any same-flavored pancakes from the IHOP menu per week for one year). Feb. 1, the top 10 pancake eaters in the Rockford area will compete in the Pancake Bowl, and the winner will receive a $500 IHOP gift card.
