Sheriff’s detectives investigate shooting at Gem Suburban Mobile Home Park

At approximately 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, Winnebago County Sheriff’s deputies were sent to Swedish American Hospital regarding two shooting victims.

Upon arrival, deputies learned two men with gunshot wounds had been transported to the hospital by friends.

Eric R. Lowry, 20, was found to have a gunshot wound to the stomach. Zackery A. Rouse, 19, was found to have a gunshot wound to the lip. The wounds do not appear to be life-threatening.

The shooting occurred at 3402 Azurite Place at Gem Suburban Mobile Home Park.

Preliminary information indicates the victims were in the residence with at least two other people when several males arrived and entered the house, at least one armed with a handgun. A confrontation took place, and shots were fired. The suspects fled, and the victims were transported to the hospital. No arrests have been made.
