We are looking forward to a great year,” said committee leader and Lion Josh Ryan. “Our winners are returning, and we are looking at a full room of over 10 types of chili.”

Last year’s entrants included a white bean chili and a chicken chili in addition to traditional recipes. Prizes are given to the first- and second-place winners as well as People’s Choice and Best Decorated Booth.

The event also includes a Bag Toss Tournament sponsored by Whiskey’s Rockton Inn. Players will play in the warmth of the center and have the ability to win half the fees collected by those joining the tournament. Entries will be taken that day and are $25 per team.

Last year, an estimated 400 people attended the Chili Cook-off. Attendance is expected to be more than 500 this year. The Rockton Lions direct the proceeds from the Cook-off and Bag Toss Tournament back into the community.
