Rockford man on parole faces cocaine charges

Andre D. Richardson, 29, of Rockford, has been charged with two counts of delivery of 1-15 grams of cocaine and delivery of 1-15 grams of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a church following an investigation by the Rockford Police Department’s Narcotics Unit.
Within the past few weeks, members of the Narcotics Unit received information about an individual who was selling crack cocaine at different locations on the west side of Rockford. An investigation was initiated by detectives, and the investigation revealed the suspect was Richardson. Richardson is on parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections.
The investigation concluded Tuesday, March 18, after detectives with the Rockford Police Department Narcotics Unit, Drug Enforcement Administration and officers assigned to the Community Services Unit took Richardson into custody without incident in a business parking lot in the 3900 block of West Riverside Boulevard.
Richardson is being held at the Winnebago County Jail.
