Motorist transports stabbing victim to hospital

A 40-year-old man was listed in stable condition Saturday afternoon, after being found bleeding in the street by a passing motorist hours earlier.

Police say a woman noticed the wounded man in the area of South Winnebago and Cedar street at about 3:50 a.m., Saturday, April 19. He was bleeding from the right shoulder. The woman transported the victim to Rockford Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for a stab wound.
