‘Godspell — Under the Big Top’ at Nordlof Center May 2-4

Gateway Performing Arts Studio, a community-based vocal/dance/theater company, will showcase its latest production, Godspell — Under the Big Top, May 2-4 at Nordlof Center, 118 N. Main St., downtown Rockford.
Public performances are at 7 p.m., Friday, May 2; 2 and 7 p.m., Saturday, May 3; and 2 and 7 p.m., Sunday, May 4.
Ticket prices are $20 for “Center Ring Seats” in the first and second row. General seats are $18 for adults and $16 for seniors and children 12 and younger.
“We are taking a creative bent on a long-time musical favorite,” said Executive Director Ellen Mahan. “It’s kind of a Godspell meets Cirque de Soleil. The local cast is just amazing, and all ages will love it!”
Gateway Performing Arts Studio provides quality learning and performance opportunities through voice, dance and theater, believing the arts have the power to transform lives and change communities while providing the opportunity to build confidence, creativity, communication skills, team-building skills, citizenship and character. Staff are encouraging professional artists who serve as teachers and mentors.
