Shelter Care Ministries’ Annual Spring Luncheon will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Thursday, May 8, at Prairie Street Brewhouse, 200 Prairie St., downtown Rockford. Admission is $35 per person or $280 for a table of 8.
In addition to a delicious lunch, the festivities will include a keynote address, a program to inspire and entertain, and the ever-popular Spring MarketPlace featuring hanging baskets, pottery, jams and relishes, gourmet granola, and spring décor.
Shelter Care Ministries was established in 1984 by Emmanuel Episcopal Church as a response to the needs of a growing homeless population. The programs have expanded since then to include Jubilee Center, a daytime drop-in center serving individuals with chronic mental illness; emergency/transitional or permanent supportive housing programs for families that are homeless; a drop-in day center (MAYA’S House) for children who are homeless; and Careers & MORE, which prepares clients for the job market by providing classes, coaching and support.
