Kids’ Night at Rockford Speedway Saturday, May 3

LOVES PARK, Ill. — This Saturday night, May 3, marks the first of four “Kids’ Nights” this summer at Rockford Speedway, 9572 Forest Hills Road, Loves Park, Ill.
On Kids’ Night, kids 11 and younger are always admitted free.
Rockford Speedway Kids’ Nights feature fun events for kids, and this week is no exception, as the first 1,000 kids through the gate next will receive a free racing poster of one their favorite racers. There also will be tractor rides for kids courtesy of Tractor Town and, at intermission, all kids 11 and younger will be invited on track for the Safari Childcare “Kids Candy Scramble.”
Racing action Saturday night includes the Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models, Miller Lite American Short Trackers, Kickstart Roadrunners and the Sam’s Drive-In Roadrunner Challenge “Double Spin to Win” race. Gates open at 5 p.m., with Stateline Staffing Services Fast Dashes going green at 7:07 p.m.
‘Mom’s Night,’ ‘Salute to Military Night’ coming up
Next weekend is Mother Day weekend, so make sure to treat mom to a night at the races next Saturday night as Rockford Speedway hosts “Mom’s Night.” There will be on-track action featuring the Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models, Bargain Hunter Sportsman and Kickstart Roadrunners along with the Sam’s Drive-In Roadrunner Challenge “Morning Make Up Dash.”
Next weekend also marks the return of the Hornets and Winged Women on Wheels. And, as an extra treat for mom, there will also be “Wine Tasting for Moms” in the Miller Lite Pavilion.
Coming up Saturday night, May 17, it’s Speedway Auto Mall “Salute to Military Night,” where we salute those who help keep our country free. Any current or former member of the United States military who presents a military ID at the front gate will receive free admission Saturday, May 17. The Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models, Miller Lite American Short Trackers and Kickstart Roadrunners will be in action on “Salute to Military Night,” along with the Illini Racing Series Midgets and American Super Cup Series.
‘Classic Ar Cruise Nights’ begin Wednesday, May 14
Something new is coming to the Rockford Speedway. For 20 consecutive Wednesday evenings, beginning May 14 and ending Sept. 20, car enthusiasts young and old will be able to view the cars that made cruising famous at Classic Car Cruise Nights. The Cruise Nights will be held in the parking lot of the Forest Hills Lodge, next to Rockford Speedway. Classic Car Cruise Nights will get under way at 5 p.m. and run until 8 p.m. So, make sure to stop by Rockford Speedway on Wednesday evenings this summer and view some of the classics during Classic Car Cruise Nights.
