Summerfield Zoo celebrates Mother’s Day weekend May 10-11

BELVIDERE, Ill. — Celebrate Mother’s Day weekend with Summerfield Zoo, 3088 Flora Road, in Belvidere, Ill. The zoo will be celebrating the arrival of all of its spring babies — reindeer, wallaby, emu and much more.

Each mom will receive a free treat from Carmen’s Café. While at the zoo, enjoy a special animal encounter presentation featuring amazing animal moms. Also, make a Mother’s Day present for your mom at Lilly’s Craft Corner.

Summerfield Zoo is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, May 10, and 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Sunday, May 11. Admission is $8 per adult, $6 per senior and $5 per child. All proceeds go to the care of all the animals, many of which are rescue animals.

If you or your mom loves animals, there isn’t a better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than to visit Summerfield Zoo,” said Margaret Tyler, volunteer at Summerfield Zoo. “It will be a Mother’s Day you will never forget.”

Enjoy animal presentations, pony rides, the petting zoo, Lilly’s Craft Corner, Carmen’s Café and Prancer’s Gift Shop all while at the zoo.

Summerfield Zoo specializes in providing an up-close-and-personal animal experience for the whole family. As a small zoo, visitors can get up close and meet many of the animals.
