The Literacy Council’s 100 Men Who Cook & Brew will be celebrating its 25th year Saturday, May 17, at the BMO Harris Bank Center. This popular fund-raiser benefiting The Literacy Council is bringing back some past elements and adding some new twists to commemorate this milestone year.
Live entertainment will be provided by Eddie B’s Jazz, a creative collaboration of musical talent co-founded in 2011 by drummer/vocalist Ed Bogdonas and bassist David Timmcke.
New this year, a Craft Brew Tasting Lounge has been added to the benefits exclusively for tickets for the first seating.
Eleven new stations and 19 new volunteer chefs have signed on to join efforts in presenting this grazing extravaganza.
The event will also feature emcees Steve Summers (Q98.5) and Nick Toma (WTVO/FOX), a silent auction offering in excess of $17,000 of items and services, announcement of winners of the Ultimate Bucket List, door prizes and unlimited tastings of the chef’s recipes.
Tickets are available now, with a choice of a 6:30 p.m. admission ticket at $75 each or a table of 10 at $650. A 7:30 p.m. ticket is $55 each and a table of 10 for $500. All tickets include a seat at a reserved table, a copy of the official event cookbook, and unlimited tastings. Reservations are available online at www.theliteracycouncil.org or by calling (815) 963-7323 Monday-Thursday.
No tickets will be available at the door.
Volunteers are needed in a variety of areas with shifts ranging from two to four hours. All volunteers receive time to enjoy the festivities and a copy of the 2014 official 100 Men Who Cook & Brew cookbook.
