Food Bank appoints Julie Yurko president and CEO

Northern Illinois Food Bank (NIFB) has named Julie Yurko, 45, the organization’s new president and CEO. Yurko, who is the organization’s vice president of philanthropy and communications, will succeed CEO Pete Schaefer, who announced he was stepping down earlier this year.

With more than 23 years of experience in managing fund-raising, operations and marketing at a variety of not-for-profit organizations, Yurko started at NIFB in 2009. Since her arrival, contributed revenue has doubled.
