Young at Heart Festival kicks off summer fun in Loves Park May 23-26
LOVES PARK, Ill. — The Young at Heart Festival will kick off the summer festival season for its 43rd year, running from Friday, May 23, through Monday, May 26, on the Loves Park City Hall grounds, 100 Heart Blvd., Loves Park, Ill.
The festival will have lots of family fun, great music, carnival rides by Skinners’ Amusements, fireworks, beer garden, food and the Young at Heart parade.
Headlining this year’s festival is national country star Phil Vassar, along with fan favorites Clutch Cargo, Infinity and Mr. Big Stuff.
This family-friendly weekend welcomes attendees of all ages, with children 6 and younger admitted free.
Sunday, May 25, is Kids’ Day and will feature children’s entertainer Jim Gill, The Magic of Brian Holt, and free face painting by Alter Ego.
Those who purchase buttons in advance save $2 off gate prices. Buttons are available at outlets all over the region (visit www.youngatheartfestival.com for locations). Buttons are good for all four days of the festival, and cost $7 in advance or $9 at the gate. Children 6 and younger are admitted free.

8-9:30 p.m. — Back Country Roads
9:30 p.m. — Fireworks Spectacular
10-11:30 p.m. — Phil Vassar

1-4 p.m. — Free face painting by Alter Ego
1:15-2 p.m. — Jim Gill
