By Larry Ubben
MT. MORRIS, Ill. — Everybody who fondly remembers the exciting closing show of last year’s Campus Concerts Series featuring Wisconsin’s award-winning Blues Band, The Jimmys, with guest star Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick, rejoice, mark your calendars, tell your friends — we are pleased to announce that they’ll be bringing their high-energy performance back to our Band Shell to open our 20124 season with a bang June 6.
Band leader Jimmy Voegeli brings his eight-piece powerhouse outfit to our stage as part of their Midwest tour in support of their latest release, HaDaYa Do That Thing LIVE!. Anyone who was fortunate enough to have been at their debut performance in Mt. Morris last Aug. 23 and remembers the horn players dancing through the crowd and into the street can attest to the superior quality of this group’s musical talents and showmanship.
So, remember to mark your calendar, bring your friends and families on Friday night, June 6, for concessions beginning at 6 p.m., with the show starting at 7 p.m.
