Online Staff Report
Gambling addiction will be the topic of an event slated for 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 17, at JustGoods Fair Trade Store, 201 Seventh St., Rockford.
Doug LaBella, a member of the Wisconsin Council of Problem Gamblers and a social worker, will talk specifically about treatment programs, what works and what might not work.
LaBella said those who are addicted can be in denial and get worse as time progresses. People should seek help immediately if they believe they have a problem.
LaBella has done workshops on gambling addiction in Illinois and Wisconsin. The program is free and open to the public.
