Discovery Center and Rockford Art Museum team up to host a day devoted to chalk art! Riverwalk Chalk Fest will be from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Friday, June 13, at the Rockford Riverwalk, 711 N. Main St., Rockford.
Join the museums on the Riverwalk to explore the amazing art that can be created using this simple material. Invent your own chalk colors, see artists at work on their designs, and create your own masterpiece! Admission ($8 per person; free to members of either museum) includes all activities and entrance to both Discovery Center and Rockford Art Museum.
Discovery Center Museum is a non-profit organization providing hands-on math, science and art experiences for all ages with more than 250 hand-on exhibits, planetarium, special area for children younger than 5, and an outdoor science park. General admission to Discovery Center is $8 adults, $8 children (ages 2 to 17), and free to museum members and children age 1 and younger. Hours of operation are: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily. Rockford Art Museum is a non-profit organization that has been enriching the quality of life for people of all ages through art collection, exhibitions and education since 1913. Regular admission to the museum is $7 adults, $3 students/seniors, free for RAM members and children younger than 12. Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily.
