Warrants issued for man wanted in recent armed robbery, shooting on Royal Avenue

Arrest warrants have been issued for a Rockford man wanted in connection with two armed robberies and a drive-by shooting on Royal Avenue in the past three days, police said Friday, June 20.

Tuesday, June 17,  a victim was robbed at gunpoint at 4104 Auburn St. The victim reported being robbed by two men who were both armed with handguns.  Two days later, a victim was shot in a drive-by shooting in the 800 block of
Royal Avenue.

Lamarcus Bassett, 21, was identified in both incidents as one of the suspects.

Bassett is wanted on two counts of armed robbery, aggravated battery, conspiracy to commit aggravated battery, aggravated battery with a firearm and conspiracy to commit aggravated discharged of a firearm. Bond has been set at $1.2 million.

Basset is also wanted on additional outstanding warrants. He is considered armed and dangerous.
