Armed robbery reported at North Main Street Check Into Cash

Rockford Police are on the scene of an armed robbery they say occurred at around 10 a.m., Monday, June 23, at Check Into Cash, 3437  N. Main St., according to published reports.

Police say two men wearing black masks entered the store and demanded money at gunpoint. One suspect is described as a black male, 5-feet, 9-inches. He was wearing a Detroit Lions baseball hat. The second suspect is a black male, around 6-feet, 1-inch. He was wearing a dark gray sweatshirt.

The suspects were last seen fleeing north on foot in the alley behind Doughboy Donuts.

A woman was treated for breathing complications at the scene and released.

    Why aren’t these cash stores’ doors only allowed to be opened by an employee pushing a button? An employee can then observe someone BEFORE they let them in. Or have bullet proof glass surrounding the employee area. If I was an employee, I would sue the corporation for not taking appropriate measures to protect my life…then maybe they would DO something.
