Rockford’s 2014 Fourth of July schedule

Following is Rockford’s schedule of events:

Wednesday, July 2

1:30 p.m. — Imagination Station at Sinnissippi Band Shell, 1401 N. Second St.

Thursday, July 3

7 p.m. — Harlan Jefferson Tribute Show at Sinnissippi Band Shell, 1401 N. Second St.

Friday, July 4

7 a.m. — Alan Hutchcroft Classic Memorial 8k and 2-mile runs starting at the Trolley Station, 324 N. Madison St.

Noon — Meet Great Human Beings gathering at West State and North Main streets.

5 p.m. — Dirty Fishnet Stockings band featuring Ted O’Donnell at East State and Water Street.

6 p.m. — Carl Cole at the piano at South Wyman and Elm streets.

7 p.m. — Annual Parade featuring the Rockford Phantom Regiment, the City of Rockford Pipe Band and more than 50 marching units and floats through downtown.

7:30 p.m. — Silver Creek Band in Davis Park, 300 S. Wyman St.

9:30 p.m. — SkyConcert Fireworks Show begins over downtown Rockford. Broadcast live over B103 Radio and WTVO-TV. Bring your radio and lawn chair. Davis Park prime viewing and concert area — gate opens at 6 p.m. $6 admission; kids younger than 4 free with adult supervision. No pets, coolers, packed food or sparklers.

Parade information

The parade forms at Seventh Street and Sixth Avenue, starts at 7 p.m., and is scheduled to follow the following route: North on Seventh Street to East State Street; turn west on State Street to Wyman Street; turn south on Wyman Street; continues south to the disband area at South Main and Cedar streets. Parade vehicles may continue south on Main Street.
