‘COLE’ Days of ‘Cool Music’ in JULY! with Sounds of Good News Productions

COLE and Company” of Sounds of Good News (SOGN) Productions will be sharing several music concerts this weekend for your listening pleasure. The group features RAMI Hall of Fame recipient “Maestro” Carl Cole (piano and vocals), his lovely and talented wife, Dianna (vocals), and his sensational son, Andrew (bass and drums).

The “COLE” Days of “Cool Music” will begin with “Jazzin’ it Up” from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Thursday, July 17, at Mendelssohn’s Emerson House (406 N. Main St.) for its “Jazz at Emerson” Series, featuring Dr. T (vocals) as well as Tim Austin (drums) and guest jazz pianist Dave Brambert.

The “Good News” continues with the Alpine Kiwanis annual “Brat Days” festival with shows Friday, July 18, with Dianna Cole (2-2:45 p.m. at the Harlem Road Schnucks site) and the “YES” Club Kids (4-4:45 p.m. at the East State Street Schnucks site), as well as Saturday, July 19, with Dr. T and Evon Sams at the Edgebrook site.

The weekend will end with a “Gospel Explosion” from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, July 20, with the “Live at Levings” Talent Shows and Concert Series (sponsored by the Rockford Park District, hosted by Harlan Jefferson). The event will feature the “INNER CIRCLE” Gospel Vocal Trio (with Carl and Dianna Cole and Bobbie Collins-Kates), with special guest guitarist Donald Hambrick from Aurora, Ill., as well as David Thompson (trumpet) and Terrell Goldsmith (drums).
