The Concerts On the Creek Series welcomes “June’s Got the Cash — A Johnny Cash & June Carter Tribute Show” to its stage at 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 23.
Booked from the Chicago area, this show is one of the Midwest’s most successful tributes, incorporating outstanding musicianship, faithful dramatic recreations of the Cash-Carter era, and interesting background stories.
Because seating is limited to approximately 200 guests and previous concerts in the series have been very well attended, listeners are encouraged to arrive early to secure their seats. Doors open at 6 p.m.
The auditorium is very comfortable, and acoustics are excellent. Refreshments are available, including Mama Mia’s pizza. There is no admission charge, although listeners are encouraged to make donations to performers and to purchase their CDs and merchandise.
The location is Spring Creek UCC at 4500 Spring Creek Road, Rockford. Off-street parking is accessible from Spring Brook Road, just east of the northeast corner of Spring Creek and Alpine roads. Additional information may be obtained at (815) 979-1949 or at www.springcreekucc.org.
