Margo Stedman has been selected as the Education and Community Engagement director for the Rockford Symphony Orchestra (RSO).
Originally from Orlando, Florida, Stedman has worked with the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park in the Orlando area as program and communication manager and with Anima-Young Singers of Greater Chicago in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, as marketing director. Stedman has also worked as a consultant to small performing arts ensembles and festivals around the country. She has served on the board of Central Florida’s strings education program, “A Gift for Music,” and on the Community Advisory Board of WMFE 90.7 FM, Orlando’s NPR station.
Stedman holds degrees in vocal performance and communications from Rollins College and a master’s in arts management from American University in Washington, D.C.
“Margo brings a wealth of arts administrative experience to the RSO,” said RSO Executive Director Julie Thomas. “One significant focus of her job will be to help in the orchestra’s efforts to develop and grow our audience through outreach and engagement.”
Stedman takes over for Lorie Langan, who retired from the RSO in June after 11 seasons with the orchestra.
