Man arrested after allegedly attempting to sell stolen Nintendo DS game

Shane Dobnick, 26, of Rockford, has been arrested after allegedly attempting to sell a Nintendo DS game to a person on the street. The game was reportedly stolen in a car burglary in the 1900 block of Kishwaukee Street. Police had been sent to 16th Avenue and Fourth Street at around 1 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 26, to investigate a burglary to a vehicle.
Dobnick has been charged with burglary to a motor vehicle and criminal damage to a vehicle.
Rockford police remind residents to take time to secure their vehicles and to avoid leaving valuables in plain sight. All suspicious people and behavior should be reported to the non-emergency line at (815) 966-2900. All emergencies should dial 911.
