Riverfront Museum Park hosts mum sale, metals/electronics drive Sept. 6

Staff Report

Rockford’s Riverfront Museum Park (RMP), 711 N. Main St., will host its fall fund-raiser from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 6.

The event offers two opportunities to support RMP — a Hardy Mum Sale and a Metals and Electronics Recycling Drive.

All guests can sign up for door prizes. Community members can stop by to drop off old metal items, scraps or electronics. Anything metal or electronic is accepted, except refrigerators, freezers, televisions, monitors, A/C units, dehumidifiers and motors. Behr Iron and Metal will have a drop-off bin in the parking lot, and volunteers will be there to remove items from your car.

The Hardy Mum Sale will be inside RMP’s Kresge Hall. Eight-inch pots in a variety of colors are available for $10. The mums are provided by Didier Greenhouses.

All funds raised from the sale and drive will go directly to support RMP and its mission to sustain a vibrant, safe and healthy facility that enables member organizations to showcase the arts and sciences.

RMP is home to Discovery Center Museum, Rockford Art Museum, Rockford Dance Company, Rockford Symphony Orchestra and Northern Public Radio. Call Kathy at (815) 972-2829 or visit riverfrontmuseumpark.org for more details.
