Rockford man dies in motorcycle crash on Route 20/South Main Street

Rockford police are investigating the death of 64-year-old Rockford resident Marshall Anderson. Anderson was pronounced dead at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the Rockford Memorial Emergency Department after crashing his motorcycle while attempting to exit from U.S. Route 20 to South Main Street.

Anderson was reportedly riding his motorcycle west on U.S. Route 20 exiting onto South Main Street when he collided with another car. He lost control of the motorcycle and fell to the ground. He was then transported to Rockford Memorial Hospital Emergency Department.

An autopsy is pending by the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office. Toxicology tests will be available in approximately two weeks.
