Veterans/Youth European Pheasant Shoot Sept. 21

FREEPORT, Illinois — Rock Hollow Hunt Club will host a Veterans/Youth European Pheasant Shoot from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 21, on the club grounds, 1931 Route 75 East in Freeport, Illinois. The event is sponsored by the United Sportsmen’s Youth Foundation to honor American veterans afield, and help teach kids about our precious American freedom. Optional camping is available by the river Saturday night, Sept. 22.

This will be the third year for this event. Register early, as openings are limited. Openings are available for 20 veterans and 20 youth, ages 18 years and younger. The cost is complimentary for veterans, courtesy of Honored American Veterans Afield (HAVA), and kids’ special price is $99 (regular price is $300).

Activities include: a driven pheasant shoot, pro dog handling, and 100 rounds of fun sporting clays, a prime rib lunch, meat processing and gift wrapping. Kids will shoot six to eight boxes of shells per person (not included). Veterans will teach the kids how to shoot safely. This is your chance to meet veterans and learn about American freedom from current conflict veterans.
