SwedishAmerican Health System announced two new physicians Thursday, Sept. 11.
Endocrinologist Dr. Vijay Eranki received his medical degree from Gandhi Medical College in Hyderabad, India and completed internal medicine residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, serving as chief resident in his final year.
He continued training with an endocrinology fellowship at St. Louis University in St. Louis.
Dr. Eranki is board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism.
Eranki has a special interest in pituitary, adrenal and bone disorders, including endocrine hypertension and osteoporosis. He is a member of the Endocrine Society and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.
Rajiv Mallik, MD, is a cardiologist who received a medical degree from All India Institute of Medical Sciences. He completed an internal medicine residency and a general cardiology fellowship at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Mallik continued training with a fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, also in Chicago.
Dr. Mallik is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and nuclear cardiology. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society.
He has a special interest in the treatment of atrial fibrillation, ablation of atrial tachycardia including cryoablation, and implantation of automatic defibrillators and pacemakers.
