Staff Report

A 52-year-old Rockford man and a 17-year-old male have been charged with burglary.

John B. Wright was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 9. He is being held at the Winnebago County Jail. Bond has been set at $150,000.

In the early morning hours of Sept. 9, officers responded to a business alarm at Rockford Beauty Supply, at 3812 Auburn St.  Officers located a suspect inside the business and took him into custody without incident. That second suspect was arrested after a foot pursuit. Police say both suspects are connected with a dozen burglaries that began in June in the area of Auburn Street, between Rockton Avenue and Day Street. Each incident will be reviewed for the possibility of adding additional charges.

Wright is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 8. The identity of the 17-year-old juvenile has not been released.
