Two people were killed Thursday, Sept. 11, after a two-car crash in Lee County, near Illinois Route 2 and Frontage Road.
Misty Noah, 34, of Dixon, was the front-seat passenger in a van driven by 76-year-old John Brown, also of Dixon, when Brown pulled out in front of a GMC Yukon driven by Nicole Wagner, 31, of Tampico, Illinois. Brown and Noah were transported to KSB Hospital in Dixon.
Brown was pronounced dead at the hospital. Noah was transported to Rockford, where she died at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center at around 9 p.m., Thursday. An autopsy showed Noah died from blunt trauma to the head and neck.
Police say there were six other passengers in the van including a 2-year-old boy and girls ages 5, 7, 8 and 9. The children were also hospitalized but are expected to survive.
The death is under investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Department.
