Parolee arrested after search warrant at RHA property

A man currently on parole was arrested Monday, Sept. 29, after a search warrant was executed inside an apartment owned by the Rockford Housing Authority.

Sept. 29, the Neighborhood Response Unit and Rockford Police District 2 Patrol Officers executed a search warrant at 1502 Birch Court. During the search, police discovered cannabis, drug equipment and packaging materials.

The apartment’s sole occupant, 25-year-old Carter Minniefield, was arrested at the scene. Minniefield was charged with possession with the intent to deliver cannabis within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of drug equipment and resisting arrest.

Minniefield is currently on parole for a 2012 drug charge. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 16.

    WHY is someone on parole allowed to live in a FEDERALLY funded housing project?? What, no background checks? DUH

    He might be on social security disability or something like that, which is for people who claim to have a legal disability. It would be nice to see marijuana legalized. That would be possible if people engaged in jury nullification, as was done during the alcohol prohibition of long-ago.
