DeKalb resident and country music singer/songwriter Gary Mullis will premiere his new video, “Doing the Christmas Boogie,” at two locations on different dates this month. The video will appear on a number of TV stations and YouTube in December 2015.
First appearance will be at 8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 6, at The House Café, 263 E. Lincoln Hwy., on the corner of Third Street and Lincoln in DeKalb. The second debut will be at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Taylor Street Plaza Highrise, 507 E. Taylor St., DeKalb. At Taylor Street, come in the glass dining room door on the west side of the building.
In the video, Mullis is seen wearing a red Alabama outfit with the word “Alabama” on it. Mullis is wearing a Santa Claus cap and dancing to one of the songs he wrote. “Doing the Christmas Boogie” is sung by international recording artist Kimberley Glover of Lexington, Alabama. She and her husband Darrell will be in DeKalb for this video premiere. Darrell Glover previously played with country singer George Jones and Loretta Lynn’s daughter before he married Kimberley. The video features more than 150 dancers in Christmas costumes.
At both premieres, you can sign up for door prize drawings for free copies of the music video and CDs of the song “Doing the Christmas Boogie.” Taylor Street Plaza will also have drawings for free Kimberley Glover Christmas CDs with several songs she recorded. Various other door prizes will be offered.
Earlier this year, Mullis won First Place Sponsorship, Songwriter of the Decade, a large platinum record, and a free recording session to record his firdst three songs for 2014 in the 2014 Songwriters’ Contest in May.
