SwedishAmerican Medical Center/Belvidere is celebrating five years of service to the Belvidere community. Since the facility opened in 2009, it has provided emergency care to more than 62,000 people, and more than 134,000 outpatient appointments.
The medical center’s services continue to grow with the community, and include 24-hour emergency care, digital mammography and X-ray, CT, MRI, physical therapy, sleep lab, coumadin clinic, echo, pulmonary function testing, infusion services, outpatient lab, inpatient services and surgery, provided by a Top 100 health care system. Additionally, the facility provides liver transplant and bariatric surgery patients with convenient access to specialists from UW Health.
As technology evolves, SwedishAmerican Medical Center/Belvidere takes pride in continually upgrading its equipment to benefit patients, physicians and staff. Recently, the facility added the Optima CT660 CT scanner to its fleet. The state-of-the-art CT scanner reduces the radiation dose by 40 percent and is twice as fast as an older CT unit.
“SwedishAmerican Medical Center/Belvidere takes pride in being a community leader and promoting health and wellness in Boone County,” said Dawna Menke, administrator, SwedishAmerican Medical Center/Belvidere Hospital Operations. “We are excited to celebrate our five-year anniversary and look forward to continuing to serve our community and providing high-quality healthcare services to Belvidere-area residents.”
