Final Transform Rockford ‘vision’ session tonight at Auburn High School

Staff Report

Transform Rockford, the region’s long-term planning initiative aimed at improving the social and economic condition of the Rockford area, will present the final version of its Community Vision on a 5:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 13, at Auburn High School Fieldhouse, 5110 Auburn St. Rockford.

The team has been processing community feedback since the Vision Rally on July 9 at the Coronado Theater. Feedback has come in a variety of forms; an online survey, broadcast telethon, website posts and a series of community meetings. More than 3,000 points of feedback have been collected. Reaction was immediate and very positive, officials say.

When asked if residents liked the vision and impact statements exactly as drafted, 78 percent responded “yes.” Overall strong community alignment to the Community Vision has been realized, the stats showed.

In addition, a celebration and recognition of this milestone will take place with volunteers, contributors and attendees.
