McHenry County deputies shot, suspect on loose

Police are looking for a 52-year-old man they say shot two McHenry Counties deputies early Thursday in Holiday Hills, Illinois.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m, during a domestic disturbance at 1313 W. Northeast Shore Drive. The victims were veteran deputies. The 12-year female deputy was transported to Centegra McHenry Hospital. She is in stable condition. A male deputy, a seven-year veteran, underwent surgery at Condell Hospital and is in stable condition.

Meanwhile, police from multiple agencies are looking for Scott B. Peters, 52. Police describe him as white, 5-foot-10, 200 pounds. He has blond hair and blue eyes. He is wanted on charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Scott Peters is urged to contact the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office at (815) 338-2144. Anyone who spots Peters should not confront him, but dial 911.
