Boone County prosecutors have reached a deal with a former Belvidere North High School teacher who pleaded guilty Monday, Oct. 20, to sexually assaulting a student.

Jenee Blackert, 30, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal sexual assault and was sentenced to four years in prison. She will also be on parole for a minimum of three years and must register as a sex offender.

Blackert was arrested Aug. 18, 2013 and charged with four counts of sexual assault. Three counts were dropped as part of the plea agreement. Charges against Blackert stemmed from incidents with a 17-year-old female student between March and June 2013. Blackert will be credited with time served in the Boone County Jail, however, the length of that credit was not available as of this report.
