Registrations taken through Nov. 8 for youth basketball skills camp

Rockford Park District invites youth in grades pre-K through fourth to sign up for youth basketball skills camp, where children learn the necessary skills to become a better player in a fun, positive environment. Camp participants will learn the latest techniques in ball handling, passing, shooting, footwork, rebounding and team play from local high school coaches. Coaches from Rockford Auburn High School, Rockford East High School and Rock Valley College will participate as instructors.

Camp is scheduled for 8 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Nov. 15, at West Middle School in Rockford; the camp fee is $40 ($45 non-resident) and includes a nutritious snack. Registration is under way, and will continue through Nov. 8 if capacity has not been reached sooner. Registrations are taken online at www.rockfordparkdistrict.org (click My RPD), by mail, fax, or at Customer Service locations in downtown Rockford, or at Carlson Ice Arena, Riverside and Perryville, Loves Park.
