Joakim Nordstrom named IceHogs’ captain
Rockford IceHogs head coach Ted Dent announced today that forward Joakim Nordstrom has been named the team’s captain for the 2014-15 season. Additionally, Cody Bass, Adam Clendening, Klas Dahlbeck and Pierre-Cedric Labrie will serve as the club’s four alternate captains.
“Joakim is a good young prospect that we have seen in Rockford and Chicago for the past two-plus years,” said Dent. “He plays in all situations for our team and is a tremendous competitor that is very commited to his profession and what we are trying to accomplish as an organization. He’s also an outstanding person off the ice that will do a great job representing our team in the community.”
Nordstrom is playing in his fifth season of professional hockey. The 22-year-old has appeared in 76 career games for the IceHogs over parts of the last two seasons and through Rockford’s first seven games in 2014-15, recording 18 goals and 20 assists.
