We have a lot of talented youth, and these players learn skills and lessons that help them succeed both on and off the field.”
Launched in 1996, the NFL Flag Football program is designed to educate young people about football while emphasizing participation and sportsmanship. NFL Flag Football is the premier youth football league for boys and girls ages 5-17. The program provides young players a fun and exciting opportunity to engage in non-contact, continuous action while learning lessons in teamwork. All participants receive an official NFL Flag Football jersey, a set of flags, trophy, NFL certificate and a field trip. NFL Flag Football consists of a nine-game season, and playoffs in the summer and fall. On average, nearly 600 youth participate in the Rockford Park District’s NFL Flag program, making it one of the largest programs in the Midwest.
