PROPOSITION TO AUTHORIZE THE BUILDING AND EQUIPPING OF SCHOOL BUILDINGS AND PREVIOUSLY AUTHORIZED  BONDS TO PAY COSTS THEREOF

Shall the Board of Education of Rockford School District 205, Winnebago and Boone Counties, build and equip one or more school buildings and use only funds existing in the District Capital Projects Fund for the purpose of paying the costs thereof?

OGLE AND WINNEBAGO 

PROPOSITION TO INCREASE MAXIMUM ANNUAL EDUCATIONAL TAX  RATE

Shall the maximum tax rate for educational purposes for Meridian Community Unit School District Number 223, Ogle and Winnebago Counties, Illinois, be increased  and established at 3.48 percent upon all the taxable property of said School District at the value, as equalized or assessed by the Department of Revenue, for the limited period of levy years 2014 to 2020, inclusive, instead of 2.78 percent, the present maximum rate otherwise applicable to the next taxes to be extended for said purposes?

  • YES, if you are comfortable with the property tax increase.
  • NO

a) The appropriate amount of taxes extendable for educational purposes under the maximum rate now is in force in said School District is $4,644,469.

b) The appropriate amount of taxes extendable for educational purposes under the proposed increased rate is $5,813,940.

c) The total dollar amount of the most recently approved budget of said School District is $16,812,992; the total dollar amount of said annual budget, if increased by the amount of additional tax which may be levied if the proposition is approved, is $17,982463; the percentage of increase in the total dollar amount of the most recently approved annual budget of said School District , if such total dollar amount were increased by the amount of additional tax which may be levied if the proposition is approved, is 6.96 percent.

d) The percentage of increase between the maximum rate at which such taxes for educational purposes may be levied if the proposition is approved and the annual rate at which such taxes for educational purposes is currently levied is 25.2. percent.
