Two arrested after search of Rockford home
The Rockford Police Department’s District 2 Neighborhood Response Unit arrested two people Monday, after a conducting a search warrant at a home in the 1200 block of 20th Avenue, a property owned by the Rockford Housing Authority (RHA).
While searching the property at 1215 20th Ave., officers located cocaine, an unregistered firearm and items used to package narcotics for sale. Latasha Holliman, 41, of Rockford, was arrested at the scene and charged with armed violence, possession of cocaine, unlawful use of weapons, possession of drug equipment and no FOID. Twenty-five-year-old Duana Johnson, of Rockford, was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant.
“RHA has a zero tolerance for drug and violent crime activity in our properties,” CEO Ron Clewer said. “RHA is thankful for the police department’s actions and the assistance in enforcing the zero-tolerance policy. This type of activity is unacceptable in our homes.”
Holliman is lodged in the Winnebago County Jail awaiting a felony bond hearing. A booking photo of Duana Johnson was not available.
