SEWARD, Illinois — The Seward Park District is celebrating its second anniversary and hosting its annual Harvest 5K Family Fun Run/Walk Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Seward Park District (former Seward School, 2970 Tracey St.). Directly following the run, free apple cider donuts, cider, granola bars, music and fun for the whole family will be offered.
The 5K run/walk will start and finish at the Seward Park District in Seward, Illinois. Registration starts at 8:45 a.m., and the race will begin at 10 a.m., rain or shine. The fee to participate is $10 for Seward Park District residents, $12 for non-Seward Park District residents, and children ages 6 and younger free. The day of registration fee is $15. The cost includes race registration, time chip, T-shirt, free goodies from sponsors, light snacks and drink.
“We are excited to celebrate our second anniversary and host our annual Harvest 5K Family Fun Run/Walk,” said Katryna Kirby, board president of Seward Park District. “Our goal is to provide a balance of programs in the areas of education, preservation, and recreation for individuals of all ages and abilities, and this is just one of several events Seward Park District is offering to its residents.”
