Michele McAffee has been named marketing director for Rockford Symphony Orchestra (RSO).
“This season, the RSO has given ourselves a challenge to grow our audience, and we need to be staffed appropriately to make this happen,” said RSO Executive Director Julie Thomas. “Michele has an extensive background in marketing that goes beyond the basics of advertising and promotions, and I am confident her skills will help us to build our patron base in a sustainable way.”
For the last six years, McAffee was with WREX-TV as an account executive. She also previously worked at WREX as a writer/producer, on-air talent and operations manager, before leaving to work in the agency business and later operate her own agency for more than 13 years.
McAffee has amassed experience in media planning, creative direction, business development and marketing where she gained valuable knowledge in strategic marketing and the importance of building strong and lasting business relationships.
Active in the American Advertising Federation, McAffee has served as District 6 Governor and Lt. Governor as well as president and Addy Chairman for the local club Northern Illinois Ad Fed. She has twice received the distinguished “Advertising Person of the Year Award” and an AAF National Silver Medal Award.
