The second in a series of community input sessions regarding a new multi-modal station that would provide Amtrak service is scheduled for 5-6:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Park District’s Webbs Norman Center, 401 S. Main St., downtown Rockford.
Residents are being asked to participate in this process to help shape how the station will look, feel and operate. Initial concepts for the station design will be presented to allow residents an opportunity to review and provide input. This session will include a presentation, followed by interactive stations. There will be light refreshments.
The City of Rockford is undertaking this process to develop the design of a new multi-modal station that will provide for Amtrak service. This process will build on the momentum created by the planned hotel and conference center, Davis Park enhancements, Main Street realignment, and the forthcoming strategic planning process for downtown.
