OREGON, Illinois — The Victorian-era custom of illuminating a Christmas tree with lighted candles will be a special Living History feature for Candlelight Walk Saturday, Nov. 29. The lighting ceremony will be at 6 p.m. at the Ogle County Historical Society’s Nash Museum, 111 N. Sixth St., Oregon, Illinois.

An audience participation Christmas carol will accompany the lighting of the tree. Following that, the musical trio Brushwood (Mary Ley, harp; Kathryn Stauffer, violin; and Dr. Bruce Denton, guitar) will perform live renditions of the traditional Christmas songs on their new CD.

Tours of the historic Ruby Nash home will be conducted before the lighting of the candles. Refreshments will be served, and visitors may sign up for the Red Bow Drawing.
